The big smoke

London; the big smoke
Since my post last week I have traveled 255 miles to the wonderful city London, stayed five days and traveled all the way back again! Whilst in London I had the opportunity to do a shoot with my dear friend, Miss Sophie Dyer who, I might care to add, was an absolute pro!
Summer, of course, being over we had planned for a wintery shoot - using warm winter woolies, boots and an umbrella, however, the sun squeezed its rays through the grey clouds of London and we were able to dig out the summery dresses and even bare a little flesh after all!
This is only a small preview of things to come but I hope you all like the image - taken near Buckingham Palace.
On another note, it is my birthday tomorrow so I shall post again next week! Thank you for looking!

Songs from broken hearts

We don't try to copy our heroes, we use them as inspiration for our own art.
More to come.

Snow White and the darker ending

Deep in the woods a young child is abandoned by her parents who, unlike the fairy tale, are not rich nor loving enough to keep her: the child is forced to care for herself. She becomes wild with nature, dark and un-tammed.
A photographical story of the lost child trying to survive after being abandoned. Snow white and the darker ending.

iced tea, bunting and September sun

Today I had a fabulous day in Falmouth with Katie, talking all things baby, boys, childhood and photography. We mooshed charity shops for photography props, drank ice tea in Dolly's tea room (whilst dreaming of having our own arts cafe) and got all excited about Halloween!
Following this I met up with my dear friend Alice - we spent the afternoon sat on the sea front watching the boats pass by and having a good long chat before she moves back up South.
Let's hope this is the start to another lovely weekend!
One more week of work and then I am off to London for five whole days - I couldn't be more excited!

A little bit of flesh never hurt anyone

A little bit of flesh never hurt anyone and a little naughtiness never did any harm either!
Today's shoot was an experiment in tasteful raunchiness using soft lighting to give the pictures a level of innocence - as opposed to the overly used (and not so tasteful) glamor pictures we see all over the web.

The model is the wonderfully long limbed, beautiful Katie Louise Mcloughlin (frequent blog readers may recognize her from my 'mirror image' double shoot in August). Hair and make up were done by the amazingly talented (and great shoot companion) Laura-Jayne Prisk. Clothing included a rather special piece of Vintage Dior which was modified (by me) especially for this shoot.

This shoot was a lot of fun and I really like the outcome of the images produced!

London town, a small thought!

Hello Sunday, the term 'lazy morning' springs to mind thought I must admit, I have never been good at these! My head hurts from watching day time tv and the house has a warm air which is not near fresh enough for me. I need to be outside, I need to be busy.
There are a lot of thoughts buzzing around my head this afternoon, as I sit here watching season 1 Gossip Girl, reading this months Company magazine, drinking an endless supply of tea and eating dry cereal from the packet.
In particular I am thinking about London - our trip at the end of the month is desperately needed - for both my wardrobe and my mind!
Watching Gossip Girl always makes me feel lazy but there isn't much social life in Cornwall; there are no brunches, no parties and no fashion events!
This is why I love London, this is why I need London and this is why I will HAVE London!
Seriously can not wait for the big move to the big smoke! No more lazy Sunday's for me, I need to keep busy - regardless of the weather crashing on a shoot! No more sitting around, no more dreaming - it is going to be all work work work from now onwards! Three whole weeks till we're in London - shame it is only for the week!
